Kulsum Book 1 Complete Hausa Novel
Sumy was feeling unwell; she had a fever, weakness, and was vomiting a lot, so the princess took her to the hospital. The doctor ran some tests and discovered she was two months pregnant.......they were discharged and they returned home.
The princess called Kursum and told her, "Aunty, Sumy is two months pregnant." Kursum was shocked and shaken by this news. "Oh my, Sumy will be devastated if she finds out she is pregnant, especially since it might make her forget her current situation." The princess said, "Here is the test result," but she couldn't calm her down. A pregnant woman should avoid stress so she doesn't miscarry.
Sumy, who had been reading the Qur'an, heard a bit of the conversation. She raised her head and the princess handed her the test result. Sumy took it, looked, and her face fell. "Who is pregnant? Me? Everyone?" she asked.
Kursum said, "Indeed, man is weak. Whatever God has decreed will happen; no one can change God's will. Everything in this world is a test. For God's sake, be patient and accept the destiny God has set for you." Sumy said, “What is happening? I am in complete darkness.”
"You are two months pregnant, Sumy. It's just you, no one else." Tears streamed down Sumy's face as she prayed to God that this would be better for her. Kursum said, “Amin.”
Daddy was driving calmly, happy that today he would see his only daughter in the world after a year and a half of separation.
He arrived at the school, went to the visitors' lodge (where parents stay when they visit their children), and they sent for Sumy to come see her dad..... She and Kursum went to Daddy and greeted him. As soon as Daddy saw how thin Sumy had become, and that she had lost her sparkle, he said, "Kursum, is Sumy not well?" Kursum was silent; she always felt a certain connection whenever she was in front of Sumy's father.......Sumy's crying snapped her out of her thoughts. She was crying, telling Daddy everything that had happened from her marriage up to now, including the pregnancy. Daddy couldn't speak, only tears fell. He truly felt very sorry for Sumy; it was all Hajiya Hadiza's fault. With Sumy home in front of him, his mind was at ease.
He comforted Sumy, "Have patience, don't worry, it's a test from God. After hardship comes ease." He gave them money for shopping, then said goodbye, saying he was returning to Kano but would be back at the end of the year to take her home. He gave them a large sum of money and they thanked him.
Daddy had planned to stay two days, but he couldn't bear to see the state Sumy was in. He was forcing himself to stay, but his mind was troubled, so he gathered his things and returned to Kano.
Hajiya Hadiza was sitting in the parlour, waiting for Daddy to enter the house, having applied her usual heavy makeup, looking like she was going to see a rival without permission to touch... As he entered, she recognized his voice and his greeting, but she didn't care about his mood. Shamelessly, she jumped onto his neck. Daddy couldn't even speak because of his sadness; she had already caused so much trouble. Suddenly, there was a sound like a person falling...??
She rolled and called out to Samira (the housemaid), "Call the men! Come out! Alhaji is unwell!" Samira ran out calling, "Hajiya! Alhaji has collapsed, it seems he's unconscious!" A panicked Hajiya said,"Samira, call Shehu's phone, I know he's not far, call him so we can take Alhaji to the hospital...."
Baba Shehu quickly arrived home, they put Alhaji in the car and rushed to the hospital. The doctors did their best, but his soul had departed (Every soul shall taste death). It was pitiful; Hajiya and Baba Shehu could only cry; they had suffered a great loss. The doctor took Baba Shehu and Hajiya aside and asked them what happened, why they had waited until Alhaji had a heart attack, knowing he had a heart condition. Hajiya stuttered, didn't say anything except for the cries she was making, probably realizing she was the cause of Alhaji's heart attack. Now he was gone, leaving her. She could only cry, regretting what she had sown...…
I also couldn't write much because Daddy's death was not a small shock...... Rest In Peace ???

Daddy's death shook everyone greatly. Many people knew him for his good character and his help for the poor. There was no discrimination in his affairs... People kept coming to offer condolences. Baba Shehu was outside receiving guests... Hajiya could only cry in her room, unable to respond to the greetings offered to her. Hajiya Mario came to her side, adding to her grief, saying she should be praying, not crying. Zainab was also very sad about Daddy's death;he was the only one who sincerely advised her about life and its hardships. Now she had suffered a great loss. She loved him as if he were her own father. Even Yazid came to the house to offer condolences. He sympathized with her greatly because he knew how close they were. A certain fondness for her grew in his heart.... He even went to Hajiya's room to greet her. She responded without praise, but with exposure, because even in her current state, she didn't reduce her own crying. As he was leaving, she gave him a message to take to Mairo, along with some blessed money........ Yazid felt angry at how Hajiya referred to his mother, Mairo, saying, "What is my fault if Mairo is in the village?"......???

The students were busy with preparations for the promotional exams to the final class. Everyone was focused on their studies. Sumy was now nine months pregnant; she could give birth today or tomorrow. But she still didn't know that her father had passed away seven months ago. Only Kursum and the Princess knew about his death. They hadn't told her because of her condition. They planned to tell her after she had given birth…
Two days later, Sumy went into severe labor. Kursum quickly called the Princess and they rushed her to the hospital. God made the delivery easy for her and she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy who looked exactly like his father, as if a clone had been made... The next morning, the doctor discharged them and they went home. They didn't hold any naming ceremony for him, even though the Princess had invited her own people. The girl was named Hanifa; she didn't like anyone, especially the one who had caused her mother's suffering. Sumy, however, was very happy. She loved little Hanifa immensely. Somehow, she had stopped being angry with her husband; she had forgiven him for everything he had done to her... She hoped God would unite Hanifa with her father one day. Kursum entered the room after putting Hanifa to sleep. She said, "Sumy, there's something I need to tell you, but please be patient. We haven't told you until now because of your pregnancy. God took Daddy; he passed away eight months ago...." Sumy could only say,"Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un" (Surely we belong to God and to Him we shall return). Then came cries of anguish and shock. That was it; Daddy was gone, leaving her. Now she had to go back home to stay, because she couldn't forget the torment and torture Hajiya had subjected her to since she was a child. She could only cry, "May God have mercy on you, Daddy......" Kursum also got up and tidied the room, unable to bear seeing her friend in such a state... She too felt Daddy's loss deeply, as he had filled the place of the father she never had.

All of Daddy's family were gathered in the parlour with the lawyer to read the will (testament) Alhaji had left behind before his death...... Baba Shehu was feeling happy because he knew he would definitely get something substantial.Since Daddy's death, he had made himself the managing director of his oil company. Mommy and others were also sitting, waiting for the barrister to begin the explanation. Barrister Shu'aibu started with prayers, then began the explanation. He said that since Alhaji discovered his heart condition and knew he didn't have long, he had come to him and given him this document. He said that on the day he was no longer in this world, his wishes were written here...... The barrister opened it and began reading as follows: "I,Alhaji Tanimu Bawa, bequeath to my daughter, Sumayya, fifty percent (50%) of my wealth. I also give her the position of Managing Director of my oil company and the house we live in; I own it all and it is for her. "Of the remaining fifty percent,I give twenty percent (20%) to Hajiya Hadiza, ten percent (10%) to Zainab, ten percent (10%) to Shehu, and the remaining ten percent (10%) is for the mosque and an orphanage home. “I hope my family will fulfill my wish, and I have not done this to hurt anyone...... Wassalam.”
The barrister finished reading and handed the document to Mommy. He said Alhaji had given him this instruction a year ago and had sent the driver to bring Sumy from school. Mommy said, "Okay, God willing, it will be so." The barrister said goodbye and left.
Baba Shehu's face was devoid of any light. So, Alhaji had left him with only 10% of the entire wealth, and hadn't even made him the director of the company. That young girl who knew nothing got everything. He smiled a wicked smile, thinking about destroying the girl before she even entered this house. Hajiya wasn't worried about what she got;worldly things didn't concern her. Her only concern was how Alhaji had given everything to Sumy, who wasn't even his biological daughter. She would let Sumy live in the house, but she vowed to make her life miserable.
The others were happy, especially since they hadn't expected to get anything. Their only thought was, Who is this Sumy? They had thought Sumy was the daughter of Alhaji and Mommy, but they had never seen her.
