The area comprises three districts: Toro, Jama’a, and Lame, and is home to a diverse mix of ethnic groups, including Hausa, Fulani, and others.
Our story takes place in this serene town, where the lush palm trees and vibrant environment reflect God's blessings. It was an evening gathering at Grandma Dada’s home, a cherished tradition where stories were shared and games played under the gentle night sky. Seven of us, close in age, sat on a mat while Dada, a strikingly beautiful elderly woman originally from Lame, smiled knowingly at us. Her Fulani heritage from Mali endowed her family with notable beauty, and she often recounted tales that highlighted the values and beliefs of our community.
Dada, with her wisdom and playful spirit, began her usual banter, teasing us for staying up late. Her witty remarks had us laughing, but she also reminded us of the importance of prayer and morality. As we sang a rhythmic recitation she had taught us, Dada's face lit up with pride. "Madallah!" she exclaimed, praising our efforts. The arrival of Tijjani, affectionately called Bulkachuwa after his hometown, added another layer to the evening. A strikingly handsome young man with a tall frame, fair complexion, and sharp features, he carried himself with a quiet confidence that captivated everyone.
